Thursday starts with a lower dollar

The dollar decelerated on Thursday 12/03/2015 versus most major currencies in view of the release of economic reports that will be announced later in the day and that should not be favorable to the American currency.

EUR / USD was up 0.78% to 1.0629, shortly after hitting a 12-year low of 1.0495 hit overnight.

The dollar fell against the YEN 0.35% and the Swiss franc 0.72%. The Pound rose 0.42%.

The Australian rose 1.13% after hitting the lowest point in 6 years on Wednesday at 0.7558.

The Kiwi was strengthened after the Reserve Bank of New Zealand held its basic interest rate at 3.50% and signaled that borrowing costs are expected to remain unchanged until 2017. New Zealand’s economy is growing at 3.25% , perhaps 3.5% and is projected to continue growing at these rates over the next two years.
